How does a Chemical Peel work?
The process of a chemical peel will vary based on the type of peel being performed, but they all have
very similar basic steps. First, the skin is cleansed thoroughly to ensure the best surface for peel
application. Second, the peel solution is applied to the skin and left to process for however long is
recommended for the type of peel. The peel begins working instantly and will continue to work over the
course of a week, some deeper peels may take longer. Last step is typically to neutralize and remove the
peel solution, some peels however may be left on for you to wash off several hours later. Over the
course of a week the treated skin will begin to shed and sluff.
